Oh,crap…that is one ugly CD-cover there. :gulp: Kinda weird that I’ve never heard of this Bad Religion cover, but I’ve heard about the Slime cover…I got the limited edition,no cover songs! :-/
But back to topic…speaking of Bill Maher…I think I found my “hero”,if I can use this cheapo phrase! It’s not just about religion though…it’s about everything. Whenever this guy said something,it’s like I would listen to myself…kinda scary to be honest.
Clearly, Kreator saves their ugliest covers for the special editions.
When my “hero”, Christopher Hitchens, meet your “hero”, Bill Maher, magic follows. 4:21 “I’m a member of the most elite 1% of the english”. How wonderful arrogant. 6:39 “Fuck you!” (to Bill Maher’s audience) Now that’s a taboo no one ever broke before.

And also I read some Kreator stuff what’s it? “Not really my bag but maybe Kreator approve of this? wink”
I meant that I don’t like to use the phrase “hero”,when I talk about a person, but I can’t ignore the fact that I agree with Bill Maher almost about everything he says! :-)

LoL…yeah, classic british arrogance. Like Jeremy Clarkson…another great example of being a cocky british piece of shit. Is he really serious about defending Dubya? :bug:

You see, he wasn’t defending Bush. But everyone think he does. It is just that he refuse to clarify himself. He has contributed to the Bush jokes himself at times: “His eyes are so close together that he could use a monocle”. He did support the war in Iraq though. That’s why people get confused because they think: “If he is pro-war he must be pro-Bush”. The reason he was opposed to the war in Vietnam but for the war in Iraq is explained in this sound clip: “Take the side of the victim!”. Iraq was oppressing and killing their people and he thought it was a moral obligation to remove Saddam Hussein from power. Here is a similar statement.
Hitchens remained a “leftist” all his life and was not the neoconservative many people claimed he was. He did not call himself a socialist the last few years though which he used to be. He said there was no global labour movement anymore and that it to him was impossible to be a socialist.
OK…I checked it,and this video was not posted yet! Yes,it’s the good old Bill again, and it’s been on YouTube for a while, but maybe someone didn’t watch it yet.And I’m honestly sorry if it looks like I’m whoring this thread with Bill Maher’s videos, but…
a,I love this guy,and…
b,...there’s one thing is without doubt:What he says is crystal clear and logical, and if I would be on his place,I would say the exact same thing. Granted…he’s a comedian,so he say it on a funny way,but it’s still true!
A quote from Professor Richard Dawkins evolutionary biologist of the Oxford University:
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
I posted this lengthy interview in the Media-talk but I think it should be here as well since Mille spend quite some time talking about religion (starting with the question at 25:25 into the clip). The interviewer even mentions Christopher Hitchens in one of his questions who we also discussed in this thread.
Basically, Mille suggest that we should get rid of religion in general (31:24) and describe himself as a hippie type.
Speaking of hippies, the line ‘Against religion and all nations flags’ in the song ‘Phantom Antichrist’ reminded me of a completely different song.
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
ever since i was a kid i still celebrate john’s birthday (october 9th) and think of him on dec 8th. when i heard about dime bag on that day, i immediately thought it was so strange since i was already honoring john.
