Don’t get me wrong,I’m not trying to offense anyone or give a lesson to you with some word games…I’m just asking.
You cannot say anything specific about atheist other than this: They don’t believe in god.
Other than that they could believe in UFO’s, witches, ghosts or in buddism. They could be nazis or socialists, liberals or communists, conservatives or anarchists. They could be sadists or philanthopists. They could be materialistic or believe in spirituality. But they do not have faith in a god.
But you can ask me what I believe. The word faith could mean different things. “I have faith in my wife” is a very different statement than “I have faith that the olympic games will take place in London this year as planned” or “I have faith in a life after death”. When you say that you “have faith” in your wife, you are just saying that you trust her. When you say that you have faith in the summer olympics, you have that faith because you have every reason to think it will actually happen. It could be wrong though. Maybe the Olympic committee cancel the olympic games in London because of a terrorist threat or because of other reasons but that is why we call it “faith”. We can not know for sure. When we talk about having faith in an afterlfe, we make a claim about something we can know nothing about. There is no reason to believe in such a thing.
Basically, what it comes down to is this:
Don’t believe in anything there is no reason to believe to be true.
It sounds so obvious, dosn’t it? And yet, so many people believe in things there is no evidence for at all.
You cannot say anything specific about atheist other than this: They don’t believe in god.
I exactly agree with you on this point,I mentioned, asked the question to you,the Atheists who read it,not as a general fact…

You are so right about it,too. What does “faith” means,I or we should decide that first…I thought about a life faith you know, most of the people agree with this “world is not such a good place anymore and not going somewhere good” and some people believe that some saviour will come and save the world, some believe that only human race can save itself, some don’t think about it maybe…I have a faith on this,at least I will not be part of this even I can’t save anything but my purity and honesty…
Anyway,I think faith is really important, faith in honesty, integrity faith and nature…I wanted to mention something like it,I wanted to see that either a man believes in religion,God or not he has a faith,he can see the truth…
Watching those videos made me start to worry about something.Apparently, atheism seems to be something like a big deal in the U.S. nowadays?! Well,I’m kinda OK with this,‘cos let’s face it,even if it’s a worrying fact that the self-claimed “leading country” is only waking up now,but everyone knew that the U.S. was/is always a deeply religious country and I always thought that at least Europe is different. Apparently not! Given the fact that those 2 speakers were from Europe,it kinda worries me that it is a big deal in Europe too??? I mean, shit…since I can remember,I’ve always been an atheist, never believed in hocum, and almost everyone around me seemed the same,as a matter of fact we used to make jokes of those who weren’t,accusing them to being an idiot! I always thought religion should’ve died at the moment we started to use electricity, and now I have to face the fact that religion is still going pretty strong? In the 21st century? When we can go to outer space and see with our own eyes that there is clearly no such thing as heaven or paradise? Why are they making debates about evolution vs creation, and why do they want to teach about creation in public schools? So what’s going on? Is it only a big issue in the States,or it’s a big issue worldwide? Let’s face it…if the latter seems to be the case, then we got some major problems!!!

Whaaaat…..when did they do this??? That sounds kinda weird…are you sure it’s Kreator?
Of course! It’s on the Ultra-Riot edition of the ‘Hordes of chaos’ album. I posted another track from that album in the ‘religion’-thread. It also had this cover.
Oh,crap…that is one ugly CD-cover there. :gulp: Kinda weird that I’ve never heard of this Bad Religion cover, but I’ve heard about the Slime cover…I got the limited edition,no cover songs! :-/
But back to topic…speaking of Bill Maher…I think I found my “hero”,if I can use this cheapo phrase! It’s not just about religion though…it’s about everything. Whenever this guy said something,it’s like I would listen to myself…kinda scary to be honest.
