So… you don’t know what an 8-track player is? It was what we had before cassettes. They were popular in cars more than anything as vinyl and record players was a much better choice for listening to music at home. 8-tracks were a trip though. Mom used to make me listen to a lot of Journey and Rod Stewart while we were in the car….then I saved some money and bought Fleetwood Mac and some Chicago, if I remember correctly. When I was 7 years old, Fleetwood Mac and Chicago were probably my 2 favorite bands. Mom used to cram Rod Stewart down my throat so much that I ended up seeing him in concert in 1999. Cool show really. Not exactly thrash metal but Rod was a cool cat for a long time. That Rod Stewart show said some strange stuff on the concert ticket. The ticket said “All Rod, All Hits, All Night”.... that always sounded almost pornographic to me, even though it meant that there was no opening act and Rod’s playlist would contain only his top 20 hits. All Rod, all night, though…... my wife loved the show.
