Someone please correct me, but for close to 10 years i received promotional cds from Nuclear Blast and they never sent 1 single CDR. I know nowadays they supply emails with mp3 to radios/mags as promotional stuff.

So am i wrong ? Is not 100% fake promotional stuff made home by any kid ? And funniest part is he/she claims to be official.

I don’t know anything about this promo CD, but I think that’s for media from the Japanese label.  I mean for magazines, radio stations and so on.  It says you can’t sell or hand it to anyone, but somone did. ;-p

Indeed, thats $100+ for a CDR, not even a REAL promo-CD inside cardboard sleeve.

To be honest, i dont know how asian distros do promotion over there, but these major labels dont use CDs anymore, its all mp3s via emails. I dont believe a distro service linked to Universal in Japan, would do promotion with CDr :).

:D

But I think that this one was thought for radio promotion - since it has a promo sheet which doesn’t make much sense within a company… :D

Well the promotional sheet doesnt surprises me.
Almost all promotional CDs in cardboard sleeve i got back in the 90’s came with a promotional sheet. Sometimes pro-printed, sometimes printed or even xerox ones. Depend on the label.
What confuses me is the CDr :)

I can assure you that it’s quite normal! ;)

The label is professionally printed on a CDr. It’s much cheaper than manufacturing them the classical way! ;)

Heheh, True,

Poor labels arent doing well these days, concerning $$$$ from releases, you know :) They can not afford a $1 promotional CD anymore :)
