You know the big 4. Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer and Anthrax. When they split up sometime (hopefully not in the near years). Which bands do you think should be a good new big 4. Here is what i think

Municipal waste. ( You maybe think they are to crossover but i like them)
Suicidal angels. (aggressive thrash from greece)
Toxic holocaust. (We need that little dark and doomy sound in the big 4 i think)
Evile. (Heavy and fast riffs…only listen to thrasher)

But now thats only my opinion…Whats yours???

I hate all these kinds of prioritization, saying this band is better, no, this one is the best one… To me, the Big 4 is just something invented by people who didn’t know what to talk about, therefore I won’t say which bands can be the new Big 4.

Ok sorry then. But i thought it was a funny question. So if you dont like the question you dont need to answer it. Am i right?

I’m just telling what I think. Anyway it’s okay, I was not writing that in an “angry” way or something like that.

It’s okay, it’s not easy to know how the others are talking on the Internet ;)

From my understanding the big 4 were chosen simply based on the most successful thrash bands not necessarily “the best”. If that were the case I think Exodus, Testament, Overkill, and Death Angel are far better than any of the big 4.

To be honest I’m not really into the new wave thrash bands. There are definitely some that I like such as Evile, Havok and Toxic Holocaust.
So overall I can’t answer your question but there’s my two cents.

When one of the “Big 4” retires, they will simply add the next most successful American thrash band to them, that is my opinion. Say, Metallica break up, Testament or so will join the Big 4.

a) once the BIG 4 are no more,..there won’t be that moniker again; Period
b) BIG 4 is an American thing so you can’t really can’t list Suicidal and Evile ;-)
c) my 2 cents to that list would be:

Warbringer
Havok
Toxic Holocaust (most underrated band IMO)
